To join the club you have to be nominated and seconded by a Club member, produce a certificate of character.

The membership is $360.00 annually, for students it is $150.00 and non flying members.

The benefits for joining the Club are as follows.
1. Reduced flying rates.
2. Access to Club's facilities.
3. Concessions on the food and beverage.
4. Use of the facilities, kids welcome.

Rules and Regulations

  1. The applicant for membership to the Barbados Light Aeroplane Club must fill out an application form and submit to the Chairman.
  1. The following items must be accompanied with the application:
    1. Deposit of $150.00.
    2. Three passport sized photographs.
    3. Police certificate of character.
    4. A reference from an existing member of the Club would be an advantage.
    5. During the time of an application, the applicant will be required to visit the club at least five times before his approval may be granted. Proof of these visits will be by the person signing the visitors' register.
  1. Approval of this application can only be by majority vote by the Management Committee.
  1. The person approved for membership will be notified by the Secretary of the club of the committee’s decision and the applicant will be required to pay the annual membership fee within seven days.
  1. Visitors to the Island and Barbadians who wish to fly as pilots in command, who are not members of the Barbados Light Aeroplane Club, must fill out a provisional membership form, which will be valid for a six month period, i.e. six consecutive months only. The provisional membership fee will be equivalent to the annual membership fee of members. Pilots flying dual only must pay the cost of the flight plus the instructor's fee on an hourly rate.
  1. The provisional membership can be validated by the instructor who has given the provisional member a check ride. A resident who is a provisional member can only be validated once a year, and after the second term as a provisional member must become a full member of the Barbados Light Aeroplane Club.
  1. Provisional membership does not give anyone any rights to participate in the Barbados Light Aeroplane Club other than permission to pay for flying and the use of the club's aeroplanes when available for flying. The provisional member does not have the right to vote in the management of the club.
  1. All members are required to adopt a suitable dress code appropriate at all times. Shoes will be worn at all times and members and visitors will be required to act in a responsible manner while on any of the club's facilities. Any misbehaviour will be dealt with by a disciplinary committee set up by the Chairman.
  1. It is to be determined by the disciplinary committee if to suspend or dis-qualify any person from membership.   
  1. Members and provisional members are not entitled to enter restricted areas at the Grantley Adams International Airport unless they hold the appropriate pass. This entry to restricted areas shall be treated as a privilege. Any member found abusing this privilege will be subject to disciplinary action by the committee.
  1. All persons entering the club's premises who are not members or provisional members are required to sign the Register for Visitors in order to comply with the Liqueur license Club regulations, a breach of which can cause the Barbados Light Aeroplane Club to have their Liqueur License cancelled and the club fined by the Courts.
  1. (a) A member of the Barbados Light Aeroplane Club is a person who has been approved membership and paid up for a period of one year.
    (b) A provisional member is approved by an instructor for a six month period within one calendar year, with limited rights to the club.
  1. The Management Committee shall consist of eight members, Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and five other members who will be selected by vote of the entire membership annually at the Annual General Meeting.
  1. The Annual General Meeting shall be called within six weeks into the New Year.
  1. From the Management Committee the following sub-committee will be selected.
    1. Finance Committee
    2. Flying Committee
    3. Building and Ground
    4. Bar and Entertainment
    5. Disciplinary Committee
  1. Where members of the Management Committee resign other members can be co-opted to fill the post of the Management Committee.
